Who Or What Is Your Hope?

It’s hard for people to imagine that their hope and very existence rest with one man.

A simple sacrifice made changed the course of history and eternity.

How do you wrap your mind around your only hope being in a man named Jesus and he’s the Son of God!

It’s easier to believe in something more real or realistic as you being the savior of your soul and determinant of where you’ll end up if need be.

If only it was that simple to choose where you’ll go at the end of your days. Your life being your own to decide what to do, where to go and who to believe.

Well the truth is you do have that choice and only you can make it.

The question is.. “Do you put your hope in you and your ability to save your own soul?”

What if it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you are a good person and treat others fairly?

The truth is you can and do choose where you spend eternity. You can choose to put your hope in Jesus or in something and someone else including you.

If Jesus is fictional or just a prophet then how you live and what you put your hope in doesn’t matter.

However, if Jesus is the Son of God, then it does matter how you live your life as well as the path you choose.

As for me, I believe in Jesus and he is the Lord of my life!

Now if Jesus isn’t real and as long as I treat people right and walk in love with them as I try to do the right thing most of the time is still a win win situation for me. If God doesn’t exist and there is nothing to believe in besides my ability…it’s still a win win. There’s no heaven or hell or I simply cease to exist then I’ll never know I existed…win win.

But… if there’s is a God and Jesus is the Son of God and he is the only way… it’s a bigger win win because I can’t save myself and I need Jesus because he is the only way to the Father God and eternal life in heaven.

Something to think about… “Why do you believe in what you believe? and How will that impact you if you are wrong?”

If you say, “It doesn’t matter…What if it does? How would you feel? Is it a chance you’re willing to take because you have the right to choose, believe or not believe?

You decide, I’ll love you either way!

No matter what we face in life, God is there with us. He will strengthen us even shield us when war wages all around.

Trust Him to see you through or fight along side of you for the victory!

The Purpose of Love

 

Love fuels our faith to overcome the world and to win the lost. However, love needs to be cultivated intentionally. So, allow the Holy Spirit to teach you how to love unconditionally. Romans 5:5 says, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

Where there is love, there is hope and people need to see and feel that ray of hope that we possess. When we allow the Holy Spirit to love through us, he is also teaching us the God kind of love… Agape. It is not in our ability to love but God’s ability operating in us that produces unconditional love.

So, when you fall short if being able to love someone because of their words deeds or actions. The way the look, smell or act, ask Holy Spirit to help you love them the way God loves them if only just a little and a little goes a long way when God is in it!

Remember the depth in which God loves you even when you act unbecomingly. He sent his son to die while you (me) were in the midst of sin. It is with that same compassion we are to love another and with God, all things are possible!

Believe!

Perfected Love

Fear has the power to hold people captive in their own minds. It has the power to paralyze and destroy without ever leaving a mark. Fear tramples on dreams and crushes hopes. Fear binds us to failure. We can never fulfill our God given purpose if we are always in fear.

Job said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that I was afraid of is come unto me.” (Job 3:25)

What thing have you greatly feared that has now come upon you? What were you afraid of that now is a reality in your life? Can you break its hold or influence?

We give life to our fears and infuse it with power to overtake and torment us. It is very real and for too many people a yoke around their neck that drags them down with every step.

So, how do we overcome this spirit of fear?  It is written, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love cast out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fear is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18)

Love has the power to break fears hold in our lives. Knowing and believing that you are loved unconditionally by God is the first step in breaking the power of fear.  He first loved us while we were yet still sinners and his love never changes.

Don’t fear things to the point that you give it power to torment you. When fear rises up, let love rise up even higher and know that love never fails!!!

What does it mean to fear the Lord? Too often we confuse fear with being afraid as in harmful, terror, nightmares the wrath of God etc.

However, fear here is respect, honor, high regard or reverence to name a few.

When we respect, honor and hold the Lord in high regard reverencing who he is, wisdom will be our companion. Knowledge and understanding will open our spiritual eyes to see things that would normally be unknowable with our carnal minds.

We would see unconditional love as something attainable despite the actions of the world around us.

We’d understand better how the Holy one of Israel was able to do all he did despite the sinful nature of man including forgiveness of sins.

Love is meant to be shared. “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” (St John 5:12)

I love because I was asked and expected to by the greater one who lives in me. This love is Agape the Father’s love living and operating through me to all of you.

It is happy to love and an honor to show love to others!

I worship in adoration—what a creation!

You know me inside and out,

how I was sculpted from nothing into something.

Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;

all the stages of my life were spread out before you,

The days of my life all prepared

before I’d even lived one day.
